Selva captures it finely in its pages and tells it chronologically from the most incipient steps in the reception of a diagnosis to the full assumption of a reality.To be able to access this knowledge is a jewel not to be missed by anyone interested in Lewy Body Disease: professionals, people affected, carers. But this is not the greatest achievement of the writing; the book manages to pierce the layer of general ignorance on the subject, allowing to know, raise awareness and assume the existence of this disease, unknown by people whose information comes from the media.“I have no doubt that Selva’s book will positively impact the lives of many people, increasing knowledge and changing behaviours. This conquest has not it’s origin on knowing how to write, but is reached when words come from feelings, something that miraculously occurs without obeying the will” (extract from the prologue).

Myocardial Torsion is a book different from others, simply because this book is unique, unusual, and I dare say with admiration, it is a curious book, partly magical, full of personality, for initiatory readers, revealing, provocative, challenging. The book has the infrequent peculiarity of being based, to a great extent, on original personal and multidisciplinary investigations, granting it an important extra value. The authors define their purpose since the firsts pages of the book: to provide solidity, validity and even more to Torrent Guasps concepts. This is certainly a different book in its structure, content and elaboration. It is a text that the reader may admire or criticize, that may create skepticism or surprise at the new data it propose, but wich undoudtedly will leavenobody indifferent, and that is something few books can achieve.

English for Geographers is a textbook intended to be used not only by students of the university degree of Geography, but also by anybody interested in the field of geography. It is divided into seven different units, each of them dealing with a specific topic (introduction to geography, human geography, environmental geography, tourist geography, Internet for geographers, cartography and climatology). Each of the units offers the learners a variety of activities to improve their skills, mostly reading and writing in English, as well as the capacity to increase their vocabulary related to this field. Following the European philosophy that promotes the use of new technologies throughout the teaching/learning process, students are proposed a series of activities such as an online glossary (which allows students to build up their own classroom dictionary), and a class forum (to exchange their knowledge, opinions, and so on). Eventually, at the end of each unit, learners are asked to fill out a conscious learning grid chart in order to make them aware of their learning process, as encouraged by EHEA (European Higher Education Area). After fulfilling this course, students are expected to reach level B1 according to Common European framework of reference for languages.

In the first proposition of the research the authors study the anatomical and histological study of the myocardium, which defines a continuous, spiraling muscle, an integral piece that in order to fulfill its muscle function needs a supporting point, the cardiac fulcrum. The myocardium is inserted at its origin and end into this nucleus with tendinous, cartilaginous and even osseus structure, according to the specimen analyzed, located below and in front of the aorta. In this first proposition, splendidly documented, there is also an important contribution regarding the friction generated between the muscle layers in the mechanism of cardiac contraction Afterward, the authors analyze the left ventricular endocardial and epicardial electrical activation sequence with three-dimensional electroanatomical mapping using a Carto navigation and mapping system, which allows a three-dimensional anatomical representation with electrical activation and propagation maps. Later on, the authors focus in the physiology and understanding of the suction mechanism that is explained about the persistent contraction of the ascending segment during the onset of the active protodiastolic phase. The authors describe a series of personal studies and investigations which define and clarify the three-stage cardiac mechanics with the concept of the scientifically-based suction phase, an active process that the authors explain as never before, integrating hydraulics and physics, disciplines not usually adequately incorporated to evaluate cardiac mechanics and the definition of mechanical suction pump. Undoubtedly, the fast changes produced in cardiac imaging techniques will allow their use to understand the myocardial three-dimensional structure and its coupling with the new physiological concepts of cardiac mechanics.
